From contract signing to completion, the job took 519 days. The workmanship was excellent. Shari Parker did a good job of keeping me aware of when workmen would be coming. Jeff Bailey was the project lead. I am very happy with my garage and working with JM Construction. It just took too long!

Most of the problems seemed to be caused by subcontractors and not by JM Construction, itself. For example, a significant delay was the garage doors, which took 278 days from contract signing to completion of installation.

I also had JM Construction replace my front steps and rear porch. both, which had severe rot. I am also satisfied with that work.

We went through our insurance company and they recommended JM Construction to get it all fixed. The assessor came out, then the project manager, then a date was set for demo and laying of the floors. We decided to also remove our tile in the kitchen to have the same flooring throughout the house, so that was an extra piece that we paid for on our own outside of the insurance help.

I thought JM did a fantastic job. The only reason for four stars instead of five is due to the communication issues with the flooring subcontractor and them needing to come back to finish a few things. They were very responsive to every request we had and I would use them again and have already recommended them.

Oddly enough, our neighbor had the same problem we did a few months later and their insurance company used them as well (different insurance company than us). They asked me if I recommended them and I did, so they are working there as well. read less - 11/09/2020

So, here it finally is - my review of the company that I DID work with: Please note that I did not hire JM Construction, but this review is based on my interaction with estimator, Scott. I had a water damage claim, and I needed a licensed contractor's cost estimate for rebuild/restore work. I got an appointment from the office with Scott, as he was recommended by another construction company (who did not do residential work), and Scott showed up on time, was courteous and helpful. He was knowledgeable and pointed out things like the flooring ("curled") in the kitchen where the cabinet had been removed. He put together a cost estimate for my insurance company that I was able to forward to the insurance adjuster. Although I could not go with JM due to their construction schedule (they could not start before 11/1/20), I appreciate how Scott/JM helped me and how sympathetic and empathetic he was. read less - 10/14/2020

He was not only really nice to work with, but also gave me good recommendations if I need to fix things around the house. We had some water damage from a leaking roof in early January 2018 and looked for a company to re-construct our living room. We looked at several companies to do the re-construction and JM Construction was one of them. Our criteria for a vendor was that they had to have good YELP reviews, did quality, high-end work and have been in business for a good long while. Due to the negotiations between us and our insurance company and a start date, we chose another vendor.

This did in no way indicates that JM Construction was not a quality vendor. They were very prompt in getting us a proposal, the estimator was very professional and helpful but for various reasons we chose another vendor. They fixed our walls and changed our floors plus replaced our closets doors that were damaged by the water leak.
Our house looks even better than before the leak thanks to Dave and his people. Simon did a great job fixing the walls and was very kind to us. Cesar replaced and painted our closet doors he was very kind as well. I think they are all kind in this company and very honest. We are pleased with the quality of their job. We went with JM Construction to do the repairs and were very pleased with their work. The entire ceiling looks exactly as it did before (including paint color and texture). The team who did the work was professional, efficient, and only took two days to finish up. They also did a great job of cleaning up after they left which is no small feat considering the amount of paint and debris had to be cleared out with the extensive nature of the repairs.

The only minor quibble I had was that it took two weeks to schedule a time for them to come out and repair due to their busy schedules, but ultimately this was under stable with their workload. read less - 10/10/2017

We suffered from a nasty dishwasher leak that ruined our floors and cabinets. Our insurance (AAA) introduced us to JM Construction. We interviewed them and did reference checks that gave us confidence they would be the right partner for our difficult project.
Difficult project because we wanted them to not just return our kitchen to same condition as original (which the insurance company guarantees), but we wanted them to preserve and reuse our beautiful granite countertop and do some extra upgrades to our kitchen.
Their product manager, Dave, was amazing to work with. Very professional, timely to respond and keep our project on track, great advise and constant communication, and very thorough always.
The professional trade subcontractors they brought in were top notch (custom cabinet, flooring, plumbing, painting).
They also sent their own staff for some of the work to speed things up and to complete some of the more challenging tasks. Special kudos to their "Jack-of-all-trades" Stephen who showed a level of dedication and professionalism that we wholehearted commend. He always showed up on time, knew everything about code and delivered highest quality work. Our inspection flew through with the highest mark.
Their back office team was also always on the ball when we needed their help.
We hope to never have to go through a big repair job of this sort, but we would definitely turn to JM Construction again if we had to. read less - 8/27/2017

My insurance company recommended JM Construction, and they were super easy to work with. Since I don't live in the area, I figured it was going to be hard to make all of the selections but they made it super easy. They gave us our estimate, took care of everything, and it was incredibly easy to take care of everything. My property now looks better than ever.
